The Boston Globe is in trouble. Once owned locally by a Boston family, the newspaper was bought outright by The New York Times Company several years ago. What with the decline of newspaper readership, the Globe looks forward to losing $85 million this year.
It seems that there's nothing new under the sun, and that includes humor. A 1,700 year-old Roman joke book has recently been unearthed and some of its gags will have you thinking of Monty Python or Henny Youngman. Now stop me if you've heard this before . . .
